2007 Events

October 27, 2007 Junior Trapper Education Day
    MD Fur Trappers Inc. announces that it will sponsor it's Junior Trapper Education Day on Saturday, October 27, 2007 from 9 AM to 3 PM. Participation is open to all students 16 years of age or younger. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Some of the instruction will be in the field, rain or shine; dress for the weather, waterproof boots is recommended. Lunch, soft drinks and snacks will be provided. September 22, 2007 National Hunting & Fishing Day Celebration
   
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources will be sponsoring a 36th Anniversary Celebration of National Hunting & Fishing Day,Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Schrader’s Bridgetown Manor located on MD’s eastern Shore. Ruffed Grouse Society Banquet
  The Ruffed Grouse Society's Maryland Chapter is having its Sportsmen's Banquet Friday evening September 30. The event will be at the Holiday Inn Holidome and Conference Center located at 5400 Holiday Drive in Frederick.

Cocktails & raffle sales begin at 6:00 PM. There's an open bar from 6:30 to 7:30. Dinner is at 7:30

Ticket packages are:

An individual dinner ticket is $60
An individual & guest ticket is $80
Each ticket includes a 1 year membership in the Ruffed Grouse Society
There are also advance purchase raffle ticket bargain packages.
There are also 3 different levels of sponsor packages that include meal tickets, prints, and special gun drawings.

If people get their money in by the 16th they are qualified for an Early Bird Door Prize.

Last year we had a great turnout and expect somewhere around 125 or more attendees this year and we can handle many more than that. There were some really great deals in the auctions and raffles last year and we expect the same this year. Some featured items include an African safari; tentatively a Texas big game hunt; several local bird hunts: to include a pheasant hunt, a grouse hunt, a woodcock hunt; a fishing trip; numerous fine quality guns; custom paintings, and a bunch of other good items.

Maryland Fur Trappers Banquet on 3-19-05
  The Maryland Fur Trappers Banquet is March 19th on Tilghman Island at
Harrisons Chesapeake House. Tickets are $35.00 single and $60.00 a couple. Some of the items available are a Sika hunt, goose hunt, turkey hunt, RSA upland hunt, falconry hunt, Rockfish charter trip, guns, artwork, decoys,

July 18

MSA Annual Business Meeting
The MSA will be having it’s yearly working group and voting meeting on Sunday July 18, 2004 from 12-3pm at Carney Rod and Gun Club in Carney, MD. This meeting is open to all MSA members and all members are urged to attend as we will be electing new officers and setting the course for next legislative session. Trap shooting is available afterward for 4.50 for a round of 25 so members should bring their scatterguns. Lunch will be provided, but you must RSVP. Come and meet the board of directors and welcome our newest board members.

Carney Rod and Gun Club is located at Hilltop Drive in Carney, Maryland. Direction are I-695 get off exit 31 north Harford Rd Carney. Go through first light (Joppa Rd) go down 1/2 mile make a right on summit and a left on hilltop. Carney Rod and Gun is at the end of the Road.

MSA 3rd Annual Banquet
  The MSA will hold its annual banquet on Sunday, September 19th from 3pm-7pm. This year's event will be held at Martin's North Point. Tickets are $32, and proceeds help to support the MSA in our fight to protect Maryland's sportsmen's heritage. For more information, please click here. >>more>>

MSA 6th Annual 31-Day Gun Raffle
Support the MSA and get a chance to win some great prizes. Raffle tickets cost $20 each, and each ticket gives you 31 chances to win a brand new gun. Money from this raffle allows the MSA to fund youth projects and allows us to keep membership costs low. Please take the time to sell a few tickets for the organization.

Annual Maryland Bowhunters Society (MBS) Banquet
Come join one of our fellow sportsmen groups at their annual banquet. The Maryland Bowhunters Society (MBS) is a great organization dedicated to protecting the bowhunting heritage.

               Sumsare Bowhunting Safaris. Sumsare donated the 14-day leopard hunt
               that is the focal point of our live auction.

  On Saturday May 15th, members from the MSA will be volunteering at two youth events. The first is the J&P Youth Hunt Day where MSA volunteers will be teaching lessons on tree stand safety. And the second is the MD Trailblazers Adventure Day where MSA volunteers will be helping kids learn firearm safety. The MSA is dedicated to educating our youth, as they represent the future of our sportsmen heritage. MSA Annual Fundraiser Banquet
Another chance to support MSA, and spend a nice night out of the house. This year's banquet will be held on September 6 at Snyder's Willow Grove Restaurant in Baltimore. Ticket prices are $30. For more details about this event, click here.
 
Recap:
  The First Annual MSA Fundraising Banquet was a huge success. The room at Snyder's was packed full with 110 guests. We auctioned & raffled off over 55 items including artwork, trips, gear, and even a 25+ pound basket of candy (don't laugh because this was a top seller). All in all, it was a fantastic night full of good food, good drinks, and good company. We have already reserved the same room for next year. So, if you missed it this time, be sure to catch it next August.
