MSA Call to Action - Sunday Hunting Bill
Date: April 8, 2003
Attention: All sportsmen in MD
Concerning:
HB 679 is a pro-hunting bill that will allow the first Sunday Hunting in
Maryland in 300 years.
HB 679, as passed by the Legislators on Monday, would allow Sunday Hunting in
the following form:
1) Deer hunting on private lands only
2) During two Sundays in November -- the first Sunday in the November archery
season, and the first Sunday in the November firearm season.
3) In all counties except: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll,
Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, PG, Somerset, Wicomico, and Worchester.
The Maryland Sportsmen's Association urges sportsmen to support HB 679. This
bill will be the first small step in legalizing Sunday Hunting throughout the entire
state and season. In addition to providing Maryland hunters with
increased hunting opportunities, HB 679 will also have positive impacts on the
deer population and Maryland's economy.
